meet the Allstate Protection Plans leadership team

As Global President & CEO, Karl is responsible for the Allstate Protection Plans/SquareTrade business worldwide. Karl also serves as EVP of Allstate’s Protection Services Group and is responsible for Allstate’s Roadside and Dealer Services business units. Under his leadership, Allstate Protection Plans has grown to more than 140 million global policies in force and has expanded across Europe, Japan, and Australia. Before joining Allstate, Karl was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Brands at Shutterfly, Inc. and President of Motif, Inc., a high-end outsourced enterprise service provider. He has also held senior leadership positions at eBay, Alibris and MicroPlace, an innovative online marketplace for microfinance investments. Karl received his undergraduate degree from Duke University, an M.A. in International Affairs from George Washington University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Mark leads SquareTrade’s finance organization, including the accounting, finance and analytics teams. Prior to joining SquareTrade, Mark was CFO at KIXEYE, Inc., a leader in mobile gaming, and LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc., a leader in children’s educational entertainment. Earlier in his career, Mark held a variety of financial leadership roles at Microsoft Corporation. He began his career in Deloitte in Chicago, IL working with clients across technology, manufacturing, distribution, and consumer/retail industries. Mark is a CPA (inactive) and graduated from Indiana University.

Wini leads global services at SquareTrade, including supply chain strategy, customer experience and business operations. She is passionate about creating and scaling technology-enabled operations that power seamless customer-centered experiences. Her team drives industry-leading service innovation and manages SquareTrade’s premium technical support, device trade-in/upgrade programs, and SquareTrade Go on-demand services. Wini is a champion for inclusion, diversity, and equity, and the advancement of women to leadership roles. Prior to joining SquareTrade, Wini was a management consultant at ZS and Infosys Consulting, with broad expertise in product operations, customer engagement, brand performance, growth strategy, and capability incubation. Wini was recognized as the TITAN Women in Business’ Innovative Executive of the Year and Female Executive of the Year in Customer Services and is the recipient of the Bell Labs President's Award at Nokia, and Intel Noyce Memorial Fellowship at MIT. She received dual MBA and MS degrees from MIT Sloan and MIT from the Leaders for Global Operations program. Wini also holds MS and BS degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Mike leads SquareTrade’s growth strategy, account management, field sales, marketing, and sales ops functions and is responsible for managing and growing the company’s North American business. Since joining SquareTrade in 2012, Mike has been instrumental in building and scaling the revenue organization, with the company growing from $40M in annual sales to $2B+. He’s passionate about delivering award-winning service to consumers and driving innovative breakout growth with our partners, including Walmart, The Home Depot, Costco, and Target. Mike was also the GM of SquareTrade Go, an on-site services business which operates on-demand repair and smart home installation services and led SquareTrade’s acquisition of iCracked. Prior to joining SquareTrade, Mike was a management consultant specializing in strategic planning, financial advisory and HR strategy. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with degrees in Political Science and Legal Studies. Mike was named one of Dealerscope Magazine's 40 Under 40 in 2019—40 men and women representing the industry's best and brightest who are recognized for their achievements early in their careers.

As Chief Information Officer, Zuqair leads the global teams responsible for Product Management, Software Engineering and Information Technology. Zuqair brings a passion for creating and developing organizations committed to excellence along with a solid enterprise engineering background and can be credited with rebuilding the company’s technology team with a focus on high performance, using modern agile practices and continuous integration. Zuqair joined SquareTrade during the early stages of the company and was part of the original team that rolled out SquareTrade's first protection plan. Early in his career he served in a number of key roles in technology and product management. He also led the implementation of our first major consumer electronics retailer, and has continued to play a key role in implementing every new SquareTrade partner since then. He also held several technology and product strategy positions at the company. Zuqair holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with distinction and honors.

Margaret leads the product management team responsible for SquareTrade's service platform. The team aims to build intuitive user experiences that make complex logistics processes seem easy. Prior to joining SquareTrade, Margaret worked in product management at Snapfish and in various international and billing operations roles at eBay. Margaret holds an undergraduate degree in Modern History from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and a masters degree in Architectural History from the University of Virginia. 

As SVP, Revenue & Operations Brad leads SquareTrade's Mobile Strategy as well as cross-functional teams responsible for global strategy, product development, and business operations. Previously, Brad served as SquareTrade's General Counsel where he led the legal and compliance teams, which supported all aspects of SquareTrade's domestic and international businesses and managed SquareTrade's product insurer relationships. After serving as General Counsel, Brad then led SquareTrade's North American account management, field sales, sales ops and channel marketing teams and was responsible for delivering on SquareTrade's revenue/P&L KPIs. Brad has a JD from Loyola Law and a BA from UC San Diego.

Debbi leads SquareTrade’s legal and compliance teams, which support all aspects of SquareTrade’s domestic and international business. Debbi plays a leading role in SquareTrade’s commercial, operational and legal strategy and execution. She is responsible for overseeing all commercial contracts, definition and structure of product offerings, corporate infrastructure (including corporate governance, entity organization, corporate insurance, and licensing), litigation, and compliance (including product, employment, IP, privacy and marketing compliance). Prior to SquareTrade, Debbi was the Vice President, Legal Counsel, at The Gymboree Corporation. Prior to Gymboree, Debbi was the Assistant General Counsel at Williams-Sonoma, Inc. Debbi earned her juris doctorate from Hastings College of Law in 1998 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles.

As SquareTrade's Managing Director for Europe, Kevin is responsible for driving the company's growth and international expansion. Before joining SquareTrade, Kevin served as Commercial Director for Best Buy Europe, where he developed the company's multi-channel launch strategy. Previously, he served as CEO for Geek Squad UK, where he was responsible for creating the joint venture between Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse. Additionally, he oversaw the launch of a number of mobile virtual network operators across Europe, including the very first one within Spain. Kevin began his career at Reebok International and later at Accenture, where he served as a management strategy consultant. Kevin received his undergraduate degree from Aston University (UK) and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Colin is responsible for our Asia Pacific business. He joined SquareTrade in 2013 where he was CFO for SquareTrade Europe and has played a significant role in the growth of the company’s international operations. Colin has extensive experience in the device protection and telecoms sectors having previously worked with Asurion, Carphone Warehouse, Geek Squad and Talk Talk. Colin is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in the UK, trained with Arthur Andersen, and has a BSc in Economics from Warwick University.

As SquareTrade’s CFO for Europe, Alastair is responsible for finance, reporting, data analytics, legal, regulatory, compliance, and people teams across Europe. Before joining SquareTrade, Alastair was Global COO for Insurtech Health start-up BIMA Milvik, providing digital health and insurance solutions to underserved families across Asia and Africa. Alastair also held several senior leadership positions at TalkTalk, the leading UK value broadband provider. Earlier in his career, Alastair worked as a consultant at both McKinsey and Deloitte. Alastair received an MBA from Insead, is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) and has a Law degree (LLB) from Nottingham University.
